Scott Thistle, principal owner and president of Halen Homes and Harbor Homes, has been a leading member of the homebuilding and real estate community in Southeastern Wisconsin for over twenty years. Scott’s construction career started in high school, cleaning construction sites for a local builder in New Jersey. There he found his passion for homebuilding and later began honing his skills as a carpenter.

After serving in the United States Marine Corps during the Gulf War, Scott graduated from St. John’s University in New York and received his master’s degree in business from the University of Texas, San Antonio. Scott’s experience in real estate and new construction has taken him all over the country, working in various senior management roles for some of the nation’s largest homebuilding companies.

In addition to running two successful home building companies, Scott is a member of the Metropolitan Builders Association’s (MBA) Board of Directors and served as president of the MBA in 2012. Scott was recognized as the MBA’s Builder of the Year in 2013 and under his leadership, Halen Homes has won numerous awards including the Parade of Homes – People’s Choice Award.

Recognizing the importance of community and as a military veteran, Scott, along with Halen Homes, Harbor Homes and in partnership with Neumann Companies, have supported Wounded Warriors, Camp Hometown Heroes, Stars and Stripes Honor Flight, and other local charities.
In his personal life, Scott enjoys spending time with his wife, four adult children and two dogs. He is an avid hunter, fisherman, and motorcyclist.
